WILD RIDGE NATURAL MEDICINE
Danica Woods | Naturopathic Doctor
ABOUT ME
I’ve been practicing Naturopathic medicine since 2019 after graduating from Bastyr University in Kenmore, Washington. I spent my first year out of school as a resident to two wonderful doctors, honing my skills in physical medicine modalities, hormone balancing techniques, weight loss endeavors, and supporting my patients' overall wellness. Prior to attending medical school, I attended University of Colorado, Boulder and obtained my Bachelor of Arts degree in Integrative Physiology. I have also completed my certification in Integrative Holistic Life Coaching through Steele Communications in Denver, Colorado. My passion is the connection of the mind and body and the impact of emotional stressors on the physical body.
I spent most of my childhood and adolescent life knowing that I would go into the medical field some day, but it took me a long time to learn what that looked like. Originally, I was planning on becoming a pediatrician and then I considered going into school to become a physician assistant. It was only during a personal development retreat called Challenge that I was introduced to naturopathic medicine. At the time I was really struggling with feeling like conventional medicine wouldn’t be enough for the people I wanted to help, which is why I was simultaneously working on my life coaching certification. I felt disillusioned that the only option typically offered for treating anxiety and depression was medication, an option that was personally offered to me during a rough time, and I knew there had to be more. During this development retreat, I was challenged with considering a whole new field of medicine to pursue. After some research about the philosophy and cornerstones of naturopathic medicine, I knew I had finally found the field that resonated most with how I wanted to help people on a deeper level.
As part of my practice and philosophy, I strive to educate my patients, empowering you to live a healthier life; as the saying goes, "You can lead a horse to water, but you cannot make it drink." My approach is to treat you as a whole person, rather than reducing you down to symptoms or a disease process. My goal is to facilitate your journey to finding wellness and revitalization.
I also believe in interviewing the people you would like on your health team. If you are looking for a positive, energetic, curious and empathetic Naturopathic Doctor, please don’t hesitate to reach out for a free 15-minute Connection call to see if we are a good match.
